ClubZ! In-Home Tutoring

I’ve been on Edjoin.org a lot in the past two weeks looking for jobs. I was able to apply to four teaching jobs in physical education. I still haven’t received my unemployment check. I had a job interview today at Starbucks in Chino Hills. I was pretty excited about it. ClubZ! is an in-home tutoring company that has many locations through the US. My interview went well and I will likely have my first student–tutoring her in Biology for the SAT’s. Curtis ruined my excitement with his scepticism though. He thinks ClubZ! is a scam and we can’t agree on whether I should tutor or not. Nothing I say helps him to understand that ClubZ! is a legitimate business. I found them on Edjoin.org. It’s part-time so it will take some time for me to build my reputation as a great tutor so that I can get more students later in the semester. I will get paid $20/hr, which isn’t a lot for one student, but it’s a start–and better than not getting paid at all. I have more anxiety now because of the disagreement…to put it lightly…I had with Curtis. I went from excited to feeling sad.

hey girlie. i’ve been meaning to tell you to look into Professional Tutors of America. I used to work for them and you make your own schedule with they students they give you. I don’t know if you HAVE to tutor online…but if not, try them. I think they pay something like $22-25 an hour

I own a Club Z operation. I pay like a clock – which requires me to borrow money to do so. I’ve never missed a payroll. I have well over 150 competent, dedicated tutors who help hundreds of students every year. I’ve been doing this since 2002. We only provide 1:1 tutoring because that works best for students. I am surprised to learn of skeptics. They would not be skeptical if they worked with me.

      Hi Lanny,
I am a teacher interested in opening my own business and came across club z on the internet. Can you give me an insight about your experience as their franchisee? Is it a profitable business? Is it hard to find tutors?
FYI I live in Texas, Rio Grande Valley.
Any information you could give would be greatly appeciated.
      Thanks.
      Lahis.

Yes, it is a good company. The person I worked for had many tutors; however, I never met any of them and don’t know how many there were. I didn’t stay with them long because I wanted a more stable job with stable pay in the classroom. And, the driving was getting to me too.

Wow! This is exciting! I was googling Club Z because I saw they were hiring in this area and I found your web blog site. You posted in 2008. Did you ever work for Club Z? Hope this gets to you after all these years. I love your web site name.

How was your experience working for them? After reading some of the things I have found on line I am a little sceptical about working for them.
